How to correctly load your dishwasher – Dishwasher tips
Loading a dishwasher may seem to be a matter of common sense. But sometimes it is better to get some insights from a professional so that all the dishes can be accommodated and washed easily. There might be so many people who would have accidentally cut their hand while putting a knife in or you open your dishwasher door and find that the dishes are not properly clean. These are all common and keep happening with everyone.
It is important to keep your safety at priority when loading your dishwasher. Remember to keep all the knives and sharp objects in the silverware basket with handle up. This will lower the risk of any cut. Also, remember to put all the sharp objects away from the door seal.
Not all plastic items are dishwasher safe. If you take the risk of putting an item that is not dishwasher safe, you will have a lot of mess to clean up. If there is some dishwasher safe item, keep it on the top rack of your dishwasher with the soiled part facing inwards or downwards.
Place all your small plates and glass items on the top rack. To make sure your small plates and glass items do not clunk together or break, keep items in a way that none of them touch each other. This way the items will be cleaned better and no food items will be stuck between them.
On the bottom rack, keep all your heavier and bigger items. The soiled surface should face inwards towards the spray. Before closing the door, cross-check that none of the items are hanging below the rack.
Has it ever happened to you that you open the dishwasher door and find out that the detergent door did not open during the cycle? Check and see that nothing on the bottom rack is blocking the door from opening.
